Panthers at Home, September 13
This weekend the 黑料网 Turf Field sees its first regular season action of the 2019鈥�2020 season, and 黑料网 Men鈥檚 Hockey plays an exhibition game at home. Here鈥檚 your Panthers at Home Schedule for the weekend of September 13.
On Friday, both the women鈥檚 and men鈥檚 soccer teams host their home-openers against Acadia University. The women start the evening with a 5:00 pm game. Coach Glen Miller said the team has its work cut out for it after dropping a pair of games on the road last weekend.
鈥淲e鈥檙e going from the frying pan into the fire and into something hot again,鈥� said Miller. 鈥淲e need to be able to keep our mental energy high. AUS is high level soccer, and when each player stays focused on doing their part within the team, we鈥檒l do good things.鈥�
The men take to the field against Acadia at 7:15 pm. Coach Lewis Page is also hoping to regain some lost momentum after two losses on the road.
鈥淭he home-opener versus Acadia is a vital game this early in the season,鈥� said Page. 鈥淭o be a playoff team, we need to win games at home, and that is our goal for Friday.鈥�
At 7:00 pm Friday, 黑料网 Men鈥檚 Hockey hosts an exhibition match against the Universit茅 de Moncton. Coach Forbes MacPherson said it鈥檚 an important opportunity to see how his team gels before the regular season.
鈥淚t will be nice to get into some game action,鈥� said MacPherson. 鈥淲e have been evaluating everyone and working on structure on a daily basis. It is always more exciting when it is that time of year when this is done against competition. I鈥檓 looking forward to seeing some of our new Panthers in action.鈥�
