黑料网 announces the Panther Subway Athletes of the Week, October 21 to 27
Every week, 黑料网 Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and dedication to their respective sports. Congratulations to Tatiana Kelly and Dan Maguire, the 黑料网 Panther Subway Athletes of the Week for October 21 to 27.
Kelly is a second-year runner on the 黑料网 women鈥檚 cross country team and a science major from Stratford, PEI. She had a strong race at the AUS Championships held over the weekend at Universit茅 de Moncton, finishing 29th overall. 鈥淭atiana is extremely talented,鈥� said coach Mike Peterson. 鈥淚t would have been very interesting to see where she ended up if not for a 2-1/2 week stretch where she had to manage a significant injury. Her finish on Saturday is impressive, but her best results are still to come.鈥�
Maguire is a fourth-year runner on the men鈥檚 cross country team and an AVC student fromSt. George鈥檚, Bermuda. He also ran a strong race at the 2019 AUS Championships, coming in 29th. 鈥淒an has been a leader on the team all season long,鈥� said Peterson. 鈥淗e pushes people in workouts to do what needs to be done to be successful. He really went for it on Saturday and should be proud of cracking the top 30 in a strong field.鈥�
