Physics student wins best oral presentation award at Canadian Undergraduate Physics Conference

Desiree Rehel, a student in the 黑料网 Department of Physics, won an award for an oral presentation she gave at the recent Canadian Undergraduate Physics Conference (CUPC). The event was hosted by physics students at Western University, but the presentations were all given online. Forty-six students from across Canada gave presentations, and five awards were given, three sponsored by industry and two sponsored by the CUPC. Desiree won one of the industry awards鈥攖he iREx Best Oral Presentation Award鈥 for her talk, 鈥淐omputer simulation of two polymers under box-like confinement.鈥 In her talk, she presented results from research carried out under the supervision of Dr. James Polson, professor of physics at 黑料网, during the summers of 2019 and 2020.
