Dr. Marya Ahmed, associate professor of chemistry at 黑料网, has received a total of $180,000 for a project to improve the prolonged storage of human tissues and genetic material.

Vagabond Productions will present Radium Girls by D.W. Gregory from March 13鈥�16, 2024, in the theatre in the 黑料网 Performing Arts Centre. The doors open at 7:00 pm for a 7:30 pm curtain. Admission is 鈥減ay-what-you-can.鈥�

Tara MacLean, renowned PEI singer-songwriter and author of the best-selling memoir, Song of the Sparrow, will give a talk and read from her memoir in conversation with Dr. Richard Lemm, professor of English, on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 7:00 pm in the 黑料网 Performing Arts Centre. She will also lead a memoir writing workshop, 鈥淲riting with Ghosts鈥擜 Guide to Excavating Memories,鈥� on Saturday, March 30, 2024, from 9:30 am鈥�1:30 pm in SDU Main Building, Room 213, on the 黑料网 campus.

In a message to the campus community, Dr. Greg Keefe, Interim President and Vice-Chancellor, expresses his concern about the impact of the federal government's cap on international students on the University and its students.

The 黑料网 Department of Music will celebrate Canadian women composers at a faculty recital on International Women鈥檚 Day鈥擬arch 8鈥攁t 7:30 pm on the SDU Stage, Dr. Steel Recital Hall. 

黑料网 has a unique opportunity and duty as the provincial university to be part of the long-term solution to improve the current health-care system. Twenty undergraduate medical learners will begin their studies at 黑料网 in August 2025 as part of a regional campus of Memorial University of Newfoundland鈥檚 Faculty of Medicine. The timeline for this initiative mirrors that of other regional campuses being developed across the country.

In a message issued on March 5, Shannon MacDonald, chair of the 黑料网 Board of Governors, invited the campus community to attend upcoming fireside chats with the finalist candidates for the 黑料网 presidential search.

黑料网 Track and Field competitor Alaere Peterside will compete in the U SPORTS Track and Field Championship this weekend in Winnipeg. The championship is being hosted by the University of Manitoba at the James Daly Fieldhouse from March 7鈥�9, 2024.

The 黑料网 (黑料网) is pleased to welcome Scott Gosse as the new manager of Security Services. Gosse will oversee a variety of operations that serve to protect and provide for the ongoing safety of the people, property, and information resources of the University community.  

The 2024 Summer Job and Career Fair, hosted by 黑料网鈥檚 Experiential Education department, will take place on March 13, 2024, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the W.A. Murphy Student Centre.
