The ºÚÁÏÍø Health and Wellness Centre is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Student Research Assistant to support the CHANGE Program, a 12-month, evidence-based lifestyle intervention developed by . The program provides free, client-centered nutrition education and supervised exercise sessions led by a Registered Dietitian and a Kinesiologist, with the goal of helping individuals make sustainable, long-term improvements to their health. This position offers an excellent opportunity for students interested in gaining hands-on experience in the fields of health research, nutrition, physical activity, and chronic disease prevention.

Reporting to the CHANGE Program team, the Student Research Assistant will assist with participant engagement, program delivery, data management, and administrative support. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating day-to-day research operations and contributing to the ongoing development and evaluation of the program.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with participant recruitment, screening, and communication
  • Schedule and coordinate assessments, appointments, and follow-ups
  • Support the setup and delivery of clinical and fitness assessments
  • Accurately collect, organize, and input data into research databases
  • Maintain participant records, respond to inquiries, and manage calendars
  • Contribute to planning, implementing, and evaluating program activities
  • Develop procedural and data entry manuals to support program operations
  • Analyze current and historical data to identify trends that inform interventions
  • Update website content to reflect current program information and best practices
  • Enhance presentation materials based on the latest research and evidence
  • Perform additional administrative and research-related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be currently enrolled at ºÚÁÏÍø in Health Sciences (e.g. Kinesiology, Nutrition, Nursing) or a related field
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable working in a collaborative team environment
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with data entry and research databases is an asset
  • Demonstrated interest in health promotion, chronic disease prevention, and holistic care
