黑料网 will host its second annual Mental Health Week March 10-14. An initiative by Student Affairs and supported by the Canadian Mental Health Association (PEI division), the week showcases a series of events designed to educate and encourage action among 黑料网 students, staff, and faculty while building a culture of care. Events this year include: 黑料网's first TEDxTalk; guest lecture by Frank Warren from PostSecret; visits from the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program, and more! All events are free to attend. See

The 黑料网 Climate Research Lab is hosting a one-day symposium on Tuesday, March 11 entitled "Climate Change and Aquaculture: A science symposium to communicate current research and science activities to the Atlantic Region鈥檚 aquaculture industry." The event will be held in the Lecture Theatre, Main Floor, Regis and Joan Duffy Research Centre, from 9:00 am-3:00 pm. Lunch will be provided to registered participants in the adjacent meeting room. There is no fee to attend the seminar, but space is limited and pre-registration is required. Please register here:

Dr. Martin Mkandawire, Department of Chemistry, Cape Breton University will present a seminar on Wednesday, March 12 entitled 鈥淔rom Academic Research to Commercially Viable Technology: New Perspective in Mine Water Research鈥. The seminar will be held in the Regis and Joan Duffy Research Centre, Lecture Theatre Room 212. All are welcome to attend.
On Thursday, March 13 the 黑料网 Executive MBA program will be hosting special guest speaker, Dawn Desjardins, Assistant Chief Economist with RBC, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in Andrew Hall, Room 142. Dawn Desjardins joined the RBC Economics team in January 2006 as a senior economist. She is responsible for the macroeconomic and interest rate forecasts for Canada and the U.S. Previously, Dawn worked as a reporter for Bloomberg Financial News in Toronto covering the Canadian bond and currency markets and was the Canadian bond market strategist for a major U.S. bank for ten years.

黑料网 voice major Nadine Haddad will present her Senior Recital on Thursday, March 13 at 7:30 pm at 黑料网's Dr. Steel Recital Hall. Frances McBurnie will be accompanying Nadine on works by Mozart, Handel, Brahms, Ravel, Granados, Agust铆n lara, Bolcom, and Gershwin.
Nadine is in her final year as a voice major at 黑料网. She has studied with 黑料网 Voice professors Sung Ha Shin-Bouey and Stephen Bouey. Nadine recently competed as a finalist in the 2014 黑料网 Music Competition and also performed with the 黑料网 Concert Choir as a featured soloist in Vivaldi's 鈥淕loria鈥 and Bach's 鈥淐hristmas Oratorio.鈥
Nadine is excited to be presenting many of her favorite songs from classical to cabaret. In the future, Nadine hopes to pursue a career in arts administration.
