Congratulations to Kelly Yoo, Class of 2021, on winning the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association’s 2020 Student Leadership Award for the Atlantic Veterinary College. Each year, the CVMA recognizes a third-year student at each of the five veterinary colleges in Canada with a student leadership award. The winners are selected by their classmates based on their leadership and achievement in student affairs.
 

The entire ºÚÁÏÍø community was saddened to learn of the passing of ºÚÁÏÍø Founder and retired faculty member Daryl Guignion on February 8, 2021. The flags in front of the Kelley Memorial Building have been lowered to half-mast in his memory. 

The Associate Vice-President of Students and Registrar issued a message to students to advise them of the PEI Chief Public Health Office's strong recommendation to not travel off-Island during Reading Week.

The Office of Continuing Education and Professional Development at the ºÚÁÏÍø is partnering with the on campus to provide French proficiency training for the Public Service Commission of Prince Edward Island.. 

A student in ºÚÁÏÍø’s MBA in Global Leadership program is helping connect generations during an era of isolation due to COVID-19.

Students in AVC’s Class of 2023 are taking a big leap forward in their veterinary education this semester when they begin their hands-on technical training. An important part of their training is developing and practicing suturing skills using DASIE surgical models donated by Boehringer Ingelheim. 

U SPORTS, the governing body for university sport in Canada, has announced that the 14^th edition of will be held virtually during the week of February 1 to 7, 2021.

Desiree Rehel, a student in the ºÚÁÏÍø Department of Physics, won an award for an oral presentation she gave at the recent Canadian Undergraduate Physics Conference (CUPC). 

Every year in February, Black History Month is celebrated in Canada. The Black Cultural Society of PEI has a developed a month of programming planned to engage and educate about the many cultures which make up the Island’s Black community, including several events at ºÚÁÏÍø.

ºÚÁÏÍø Student Affairs is excited to announce that Julie Pellissier-Lush has accepted the position of coordinator for the Mawi’omi Indigenous Student Centre on the ºÚÁÏÍø campus. She will be working part-time on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
