Earlier this month—Black History Month—the Canadian Broadcasting Company named five people 2023 Black Changemakers for Prince Edward Island. Four of the five have connections to the ºÚÁÏÍø community.
Students in the ºÚÁÏÍø Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering (FSDE) got the chance to meet with potential employers at the faculty’s inaugural Industry and Career Day held on February 2.
The ºÚÁÏÍø Faculty of Nursing in collaboration with the PEI Department of Health and Wellness held its inaugural Scrub Coat Ceremony on February 9, 2023, at the ºÚÁÏÍø Performing Arts Centre in the University’s new residence building. The ºÚÁÏÍø Women’s Curling Panthers captured a silver medal at the Subway AUS Curling Championships hosted by the University of New Brunswick at the Capital Winter Club in Fredericton, New Brunswick from February 2-5. The team has also qualified for the U SPORTS Curling Championships being held in Sudbury, Ontario from March 15-19.
Miranda Steeves, a Master of Science student at the ºÚÁÏÍø, is working on breast cancer research, with assistance from the Beatrice Hunter Cancer Research Institute (BHCRI).
